This week we did kind of an unschooling schedule. I think we needed to recover from our trip to Vegas. Isn't funny that you have to take a vacation from the "vacation" I think it's funny. We needed time to recoup and rest from it all. But, we still got school stuff done one way or another. Whatever the kids need, we do it. They all learn so differently and at different times. I'm still trying to figure out this homeschool thing for us, even after 11 years!
On our way home from Vegas Sunday, the 13th we stopped for a night in St. George. The kids really wanted to see the Dinosaur Museum, they were under construction, but we stilled learned a little more about the dinosaurs in Utah.
And of course, the kids had to go swimming; even if it was only in the 50's outside! They last maybe a half hour.
We got home to find some Valentine cookies left for us from Grandma and cousins! So delicious!
A package came in the mail, it was The Good and Beautiful books! I love getting new books for school! It's basically Christmas for me! And TGAB books are just so beautiful and nice!
I decided to bake some bread, going to the store didn't seem like a fun idea. Evey was eager to help and did most of it herself! Fresh baked bread is the best! Right out of the oven, just spread butter and yum!
The Concert was amazing! There were 4 guitarists, Luca Stricagnolia from Italy (our favorite! Well, mine and Libby's anyway) A woman from Vietnam-Thu Le, she plays classical guitar, a man from Hawaii-Jim Kimo West, and then another guitarist who is a Gypsy-Lulo Reinhardt. I learned something new that night, that Gypsy is an actual ethnic group, not just a term for groups of people who live everywhere. He taught us some new things and his music was amazing!
But, our real highlight is that we hung around afterward and got to meet most of them! Libby was so ecstatic to meet her guitar idol Luca! He is so charismatic, funny and friendly. His guitar playing is out of this world! We really had a great night!
